On June 17, 2024 Alessandro Michele took the fashion industry by surprise and presented his first Resort 2024 collection for Valentino. And he did not disappointed. 171 looks for Men and women, each one beautifully executed and styled. Every accessories from bags to shoes to jewellery, belts and hats are delightfull and smartly mixed. We recognised Michele poetry in his choice of fabrics, and colors, and how every details has been thought and mesured. Another Michele’s magic: playing with words and logo reinterpretation…Gucci was lucky to have him going trough its archives and codes,Now its Valentino.that Michele is reinventing, mixing ,dreaming with his own eye and soul. His style is so unique. And therefore recognisable. Lucky for Valentino, lucky for us. Alessandro is a true genius with an endless creativity, Happy he is back, we missed him ”. A beautiful debut ”avant les debuts” in September for his first official fashion show for the house.
Let’s be real: Prada rules the menswear universe. Especially during Men’s Milan Fashion Week. Always moving forward but respecting the heritage brand’s roots, it’s Miuccia Prada’s timeless style paired with Raf Simons brilliance which allow for smart, modern, creative and desirable wearable men’s clothing to become a reality for the masses who can afford it. And note to self, we strongly feel Prada should be studied in every fashion design school as an example to follow.

The brand-new Netflix series titled Eric is a beautiful and poetic, highly intense show that you certainly should not miss. Alongside the amazing Benedict Cumberbatch and Gaby Hoffmann, McKinley Belcher III performance where he plays a closeted homosexual police officer in the 1980’s in Manhattan could not be more fitting. This harrowing story of a missing child will reveal how life and people have the innate ability to mess with us and although it is fiction, Eric is guaranteed to touch you deeply.

At only twenty-two years old, Billie Elish – the renowned American singer and songwriter, alongside her brother Finneas have collectively delivered so much magic in their music and won so many awards, that we fear what’s to come. A new album, we ask ourselves “will it be too melodic, too weird or too conceptual?” We anticipate that Billie once again will reinvent herself in her quest to mix and play with contemporary music. Now, regarding her style – it’s surely not surprising that she too has been wearing Alessandro Michele throughout the past few years. After all, they have something in common and that is they both have similar ways when it comes to dealing with feelings. Filling our souls with beauty, even during breakups (personally and professionally). Cheers to many years ahead where – hopefully we can continue to fall face first, deeper in Love with her, again and again.

Right before Father’s Day, you could see the new television advertisement for the Azzaro fragrance called ‘Wanted.’ The bottle, which is directly inspired by a gun revolver (hmmm..) when further researched online states “Stop Talking, Start Playing. Azzaro Wanted fragrances are made for gamblers, pleasure-seeking men who take chances and trust their instincts to be who they want to be. A daily shot of confidence with addictive trails.” So, basically a comparison of gun power for a fragrance (once again, hmmm…), but considering there have been 224 mass shootings with firearms in America in 2024, we can safely say that this is rather tone deaf and not very tasteful. Why are we allowing anyone let alone brands to continue to vehiculate this idea that the gun is a metaphor is men’s strength and male power when in reality this is toxic masculinity. Aren’t we learning anything?
Men’s Milan Fashion Week is only four days long and is constantly dominated by the same big houses. And it’s not often we cross paths with a particular collection that is outside of the box, different, modern and cool with a real identity and language. Well, that was until we discovered Magliano. Trust us, it’s the brand of the moment to watch and follow, boasting plenty of desirable clothes.

We love Dunhill. And Mark Weston, the former-creative director who executed magnificence for the house. Unfortunately, this happens too often within classic brands who are attempting to move forward, but with no hefty budget in the communication department either, you must ask yourself “how one can keep a heritage brand alive while maintaining respect for its history and at the same time keeping the old clients appeased and still attract new ones?” It seems impossible, and it really is. Interestingly enough, their current Creative Director Simon Holloway, the brand seems to have unfortunately taken a turn for the worse. With a hefty focus on aristocrats and royals – through our lens, never a brand has looked so old again. And they don’t belong amongst real show-stopping talent at Men’s Milan Fashion week next to so many more modern, creative and competitive brands.
