Wasted Hour Shop Hamburg

Concept Store ” Wasted Hour ”

I know it might seem like tooting your own horn to include your own store in this list. Nevertheless, I highly recommend visiting our Wasted Hour concept store, as we aimed to open a representative multi-brand shop in the city featuring special, curated, and sustainable brands. Come by, say hi, have a drink, and be sure to keep an eye out for our monthly events.

Vintage Design Studio
” Ain’t No Trash ”

Tucked away in a backyard in Hamburg’s north is one of the best vintage design studios. Linda Käckermann and her partner Lina Mackeprang put their heart and soul into this place. Here you can find all those beautiful vintage furniture you’ve seen on Instagram, but also soon-to-be it-pieces and colourways that you never know existed. Call for an appointment or drop by on a Saturday, and have a great Pasta around the corner after.

Remoto Record Store Hamburg

Record Store ” Remoto ”

As a DJ, going to the record store is essential, especially when it has a good selection. Depending on the day, you also encounter great staff with special recommendations, whether it’s for a record or weekend plans.

Neuer Kamp 32, 20357 Hamburg

Bar ” Thier ”

How does a bar remain true to itself when the neighborhood falls victim to gentrification? By keeping its doors open to everyone, with unique bartenders, great music from Hamburg’s electronic scene, an open-air terrace, and, of course, good drinks and shots (ask for a Rhababsi). If you’re in town on the last Thursday of the month, stop by the DJ booth, say hi and your next drink is on me.

Gudberg Nerger magazine Shop Hamburg

Magazine Shop ” Gudberg Nerger ”

Shopping for new magazines and browsing photo books for hours shaped my taste and remains a welcome break in my everyday life. Unfortunately, more and more shops with great selections have shut down over the years, but Gudberg Nerger is still an oasis where you’ll always find something you weren’t looking for

Poolstraße 8, 20355 Hamburg

Rain Cafeatery Am Spritzenplatz

I have to admit, I’m a coffee addict but not at all a connoisseur. I prefer it slightly burned, strong, black, large, and to go, but when meeting your best friend, a good café is essential for those low-key therapy conversations. This place has you covered and also offers all-day breakfast, which is crucial when you haven’t seen that early bird in years.

Jenisch Park Hamburg

Jenischpark

Hamburg is an official Green Capital, and even though there’s still a long way to go, the city’s parks and nature reserves are among the reasons I love it. Jenischpark is the perfect size, never too crowded, and offers museums as well as an amazing view of the Elbe River that lets you forget all your worries for a moment.

 Baron-Voght-Straße 50, 22609 Hamburg

Restaurant ” Vju ”

Speaking of views, we know it’s essential to change them from time to time. Hamburg’s south has undergone a few changes in recent years without losing its identity and charm. Start your weekend here with some coffee and cake on the Green Energy Bunker, and enjoy the unique view of Germany’s second-biggest city.

Nil Restaurant Hamburg

Restaurant ” Nil ”

In your hometown, you should have a restaurant where you can go no matter what mood you’re in, and a few hours later, you leave satisfied and in a better mood than before. It’s not just the food, but also the staff and those nights on the terrace that make me come back again and again.

Neuer Pferdemarkt 5, 20359 Hamburg

” Rays ” Hairdresser

In the last fourteen years in Hamburg, I’ve had a number of different hairdressers, but for the past few years, I’ve stuck with Damir, who has finally opened his own salon. Not only do you get a great haircut in an intimate setting, but you also have a perfect view of one of Hamburg’s landmarks: the Michel.
